School Governance Committee
The St. Ignatius Catholic School Governance Committee is an advisory body that collaborates with the Pastor and Principal to develop and recommend policy according to the established policies and directives of the Archdiocese of Detroit’s Office for Catholic Schools and the Education Law of the Cayman Islands to achieve the educational mission of the School and Parish.
The members of the School Governance Committee are appointed by the Pastor, and the majority are practising Catholics from the school community. Members provide expertise primarily in the areas of education, law, finance, information technology, human resources, and construction.
The School Governance Committee is governed by the St. Ignatius Catholic School Constitution and By-Laws for the School Governance Committee. The Committee regularly meets – at least once a month – to ensure the goals and objectives of the School’s Mission are met through the efficient and effective management of the School and in full compliance with the Government’s Office of Education Standards.
